Both manufacturers offer in Stainless Steel while Colt offers Blued and Springfield is Parkerized. Colt has the Series 70 built to WW2 reproduction and Springfield has the Mil-Spec. But after seeing Hacksaw Ridge I'm eyeing up A1s. Previously I asked here and decided to go with the Springfield Loaded as it has everything I want and it looks sexy. I just saw Hacksaw Ridge, go see it, and I'm rethinking my upcoming 1911 purchase (you're probably going to get a few of these while the film is out).

Price on the Springfield is gonna be $600-700 whereas a colt M1991 where I live is gonna start at $850-900 and go up from there. I'd go for the more "correct" gun if it has to be an A1. That being said, I love my Springfield 1911 to death and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Most folks here will tell you to get a Colt.
